Cars in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities reported they were notified by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Around fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Law enforcement state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered numerous other marked automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the liquid was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.

City officials announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the public for information.

A high-ranking representative stated the vandalism made him speechless and had to be solved promptly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the death of nine people by a gunman focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
